Friday Haul: Almay Wet n Wild, Revlon & More!

Happy Friday! I'm SOOOO glad it's Friday! This was one long week for me. On the bright side, it was a great week at the drugstore! I made a little money on some of my purchases and got some things that I'm really excited for! On to the goods...

This week at CVS, when you buy $10 worth of Revlon, you get $3 extrabucks. I had the $2 off Revlon eye coupons from here (you can print 2 per computer, and 2 per device, so download the app on your smartphone!). I got 4 ShadowLinks to make my total over $10, and when I went to the red coupon machine, it gave me a $5 off any 2 Revlon cosmetics coupon! I swear that machine sometimes reads my mind. Here's how it looks...

4 Revlon ShadowLinks in "Copper", "Gold", "Lime" & "Khaki"
$3.19 x 4 - These went up in price a bit!
-$8.00 (4 $2 off  Revlon eye coupons from here - print 2 per computer/device)
-$5.00 ($5 off any 2 Revlon cosmetics coupon from red machine)
-$3.00 (Extra Bucks for spending $10 in Revlon products)
-$1.27 (10% back for Beauty Club membership - 10% is always taken BEFORE coupons)
-$4.51 An awesome money maker if you have 2 computers/devices that you can get the coupon from!

Next, I'm not that big of a fan of Walgreens shopping. They have a way of making me feel like a criminal for using a coupon. Every cashier I've ever gotten has looked at my coupons like I just gave them a foreign document and told them that they had to read it in order to live.  That being said, sometimes I can't not get their deals! This week was one of those times. About a month ago when I was going there every day to get free Almay shadow softies, a coupon printed from their catalina machine for me. It was a $3 off any 1 Almay eye cosmetic product. I've held onto it since I knew it could make for a great deal in the future. This past Saturday, I picked up our mail to find a booklet from Walgreens that had a bunch of coupons to get free points for buying various things. One of those coupons was for Almay. 2,000 ($2 value) points for purchasing any Almay cosmetic or makeup remover. They also have a coupon in their booklets by the register for $2 off any Almay product. So, combining all of these lovely coupons, I got some better than free mascara!

$5.99 Almay intense i-color volumizing mascara in "Sapphire"
-$3.00 (coupon from previous purchase)
-$2.00 (coupon from booklet next to the weekly ads)
-$2.00 (coupon from the mail for 2,000 points on Almay purchase)
-$1.01 a great money maker if you have the right coupons!

Walgreens also has select Wet n Wild cosmetics on sale for 40% off! These are such a great deal anyway, but 40% off is a steal! I found an eye shadow palette that I didn't have, and as a bonus, it had a coupon stuck to it. You can also use the coupon for $1 off from your Sunday paper if you were lucky enough to get it. Here is what this one looked like:

$3.99 Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Palette in "Art in the Streets"
-$1.59 (40% off sale)
-$1.00 (coupon stuck to product)
$1.39 less than 1/2 of the original price.

That's all for my weekly deals and steals. After everything is factored, I made over $4 on my beauty purchases this week!

Friday Haul: LOTS of Revlon & Almay

I'm ready for the weekend! I'm super excited to share with you my haul this week, though. Rite Aid has been the place to shop lately, and I'm loving the deals there. But I also hit up CVS for a money maker on Almay and Revlon. Lets get started!

This week at Rite Aid, they have Revlon cosmetics for 40% off! And, as if that wasn't good enough, they are also giving you a $5 up+ reward when you spend $15!! AND, if you go here, they are giving you 3 different coupons to use for this deal!!! Wow, wow, wow! GO to Rite Aid if you love Revlon. You can do this deal 2 times for a total of $10 back in up+ rewards. Here is What I picked up:

$2.99 x 2 Revlon ShadowLinks in "Oyster" & "Taupe"
$7.49 x 2 Revlon Clolorburst Lipglosses in "Crystal Lilac" & "Hot Pink"
$9.99 x 2 Revlon Cream Blush in "Flushed" & "Pinched"
$6.49 Revlon Tweezer set (ad states that these are excluded from up+ reward, but it worked for me on Monday)
-$16.37 (40% off sale - only on makeup, tweezers are regular price)
-$3.00 (in-ad coupon for $3 off $5 Revlon beauty tools)
-$3.00 ($3 off $5 eye products coupon from here)
-$3.00 ($3 off face product coupon from here)
-$3.00 ($3 off face product coupon on my receipt from a previous purchase)
-$4.00 ($4 off 2 lip products coupon from here)
-$2.00 (2 $1.00 off lip product coupons from here. You can use these in conjunction with the video values)
-$10.00  (up+ Rewards for next purchase)
$3.05 for 7 Revlon Products - only $0.43 each!

Note: The cream blushes rang up at $12.99, but the price on the shelf clearly said that they were $9.99 (most places have them priced at $12.99, so this was no surprise), so the manager adjusted the price for me. You may not be able to get these blushes at this price.

Now, lets head over to CVS. They have a magical beauty coupon that will print for EVERYONE this week that is for $3 off any $15 cosmetics purchase. Combine that with one of their many sales, and it's a great deal! I used mine with my $4.00 off Almay coupons that I mentioned last Friday, since there is a $3 extra buck deal on Almay this week. Then, I added a few Revlon ShadowLinks because the red machine printed a $5 off 2 Revlon cosmetics coupon for me. Here is how my transaction looked:

$5.99 x 2 Almay Lipglosses in "Blooming Balm" & "Apple-a-Day"
$2.99 x 2 Revlon ShadowLinks in "Candy" & "Plum"
-$8.00 (2 $4.00 off any Almay cosmetics coupons, go here for more info.)
-$3.00 ($3 off any $15 cosmetics purchase coupon from red machine)
-$5.00 ($5 off 2 Revlon Cosmetics Coupon from red machine)
-$3.00 (Extra Bucks for spending $10 in Almay products)
-$1.79 (10% back for Beauty Club membership - 10% is always taken BEFORE coupons)
-$2.83 --> A sweet moneymaker for me this week!

That's it for today's haul. If you take it all into consideration, I spent $0.22 on my beauty purchases this week. That's $65.39 worth of cosmetics for less than a quarter!

I also want to mention, that CVS is also having a sale on Physicians Formula this week. If you buy $20 worth, you get $10 extrabucks back. If you have the Buy 1 Get 1 Free coupons found at Target, then this is a great deal paired with the $3 off $15 coupon from the red machine! My Target was out of the coupons :(

Also, if you want to get 2 Almay shadow softies instead of the lipglosses like I did for the CVS deal, the $3 extrabucks will still print for you. I have all of the shadow softies from previous purchases, so I opted for the glosses, but it would have been a better moneymaker with the shadow softies!

Friday Haul: Wet n Wild, NYC, Almay and more!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope your week has been great so far. I have an exciting haul today... have you been to Rite Aid this week? If not, you are missing out! They have some GREAT sales on makeup right now.

First, lets start with the Wet n Wild deal! At Rite Aid through Saturday, all Wet n Wild cosmetics are 40% off, plus, if you get $10 worth, you get a $3 up+ reward for your next purchase. These cosmetics are such a great bargain anyway, that I had to get this deal! Their shadows always blow me away with the pigmentation. So, I got 2 shadow palettes that are fairly new to the line and I didn't have. Then, I got one shadow palette that I've gotten before and wanted a backup to depot or something! And, I also got 2 of their new Balm Stains. The new stuff (2 newer shadow palettes and Balm Stains) had $1.00 off coupons stuck to them, making this deal even sweeter! Here is how the deal worked...

$3.99 "Tunnel Vision" eyeshadow palette
$3.99 "I'm His Breezey" eyeshadow palette
$2.99 "I'm Getting Sunburned"eyeshadow palette
$2.99 "Nudest Colony" Balm Stain
$2.99 "A Stiff Pink" Balm Stain
-$6.78 (40% off sale)
-$4.00 (4 $1.00 off coupons from 4 of the products) <--- there is also a coupon from Sunday's paper
-$3.00 (up+ rewards for next purchase)
$3.17 for 5 products! Only $0.63 per item!

Now, onto Rite Aids NYC deal. All NYC cosmetics are buy one get one 50% off. Plus, if you buy 2, you get a $1.00 up+ reward for your next purchase. And, coupons.com has a coupon for $1.00 off any NYC product that retails for $1.79 or more. You can do this deal twice, and get a total of $2.00 up+ rewards. I purchased 4 sparkle eye dust's and here is what the deal looked like for me:

$2.99 x 4 (4 Sparkle eye dust @ $2.99 each) =
$11.96
-$2.99 (Buy one get one 50% off sale)
-$4.00 (4 $1.00 of coupons from here - you can print 2 per computer)
-$2.00 (up+ rewards for next purchase)
$2.98 Only $0.74 each eye dust!

And the last thing from Rite Aid, was another shadow softie. I have all of these shades, but I couldn't pass up a free item, so I'll save this for a friend or something. All Almay cosmetics are 40% off this week. Plus, I went to Rite Aid a few weeks ago, and I got a coupon that printed with my reciept for $3.00 off any (1) Almay Eye Cosmetic Product! So, combining the sale with that coupon, I got a free shadow!

$4.99 Almay shadow softie in "Creme Brulee"
-$1.99 (40% off sale)
-$3.00 (coupon from a Rite Aid trip last week)
FREE Shadow Softie!

And, last thing for the week, is from bareescentuals.com where they have a promotion going on every Monday for a month. These items were from March 31st. I told you all about this deal on Facebook, so make sure you go and "like" me so you can get in on these great deals! So, for new customers, when you add yourself to the email list, they send out an email for you to get a free eyeshadow. Then, on that Monday only you could enter the code SWAK at checkout for a free full size lip gloss! You had to actually purchase something, so I got one of my go-to shadow shades in "Well Rested". Here is how the transaction worked:

$9.50 "Well Rested" Eye Color
$9.50 "Real Deal" Eye Color
$18.00 "Go Getter" Lip Gloss
$3.95 (Shipping Charge)
-$9.50 (Free Eye color for joining mailing list)
-$18.00 (Free full size lip gloss for entering code SWAK at checkout)

Review: Almay Shadow Softies with swatches of ALL shades!

If you've been reading my Friday Haul posts, then you've seen that I've gotten a bunch of Almay Shadow Softies for very little money lately. Well, I've put them to the test, and I have a verdict about their performance.

Almay claims that these shadows are "light as air, whipped powder shadows that glide on for a sheer wash of crease-free color with a cushiony soft feel. In 12 shades, 6 mattes and 6 metallics. hypoallergenic, ophthalmologist tested".

Lets start with the colors. Due to the $5 off 2 coupon, I was able to pick up every shade of these Almay Shadow Softies at Walgreens last week for penny's each (I picked up more over the weekend, after my Friday Haul post :). So, I have every color that these come in. The color selection is great, with a great variety of finishes and lighter and darker colors. My favorites are the "Hot Fudge", and "Peach Fuzz" shades. For me, "Peach Fuzz" is by far the most pigmented of the bunch.

The texture of these shadows is different than anythings I've ever felt. They don't fell like a powder shadow, and I wouldn't say that they are a cream consistency either. It's like a whipped powder feel, if there is such a thing. Because of their unique texture, they have absolutely no fall-out. One thing that may or may not be a good thing, is that because of their consistency, they are very, very difficult to be used with a brush. I found, that using my fingers was the best application method for these shadows. And, some people may not feel like that is a great way for them to use shadows, so if that doesn't work for you, then I would steer clear of these.

The pigmentation of the Almay Shadow Softies, is hit and miss between the shades. I find that the darker shades are decently pigmented, where the lighter ones are more of a wash of color. Which is exactly what Almay claims them to be. These shadows went on very nicely for me with a few swipes across my lids with a clean finger, and lasted about 6 hours, then seemed to fade away without a trace. It was almost weird how it was like they were magic and it disappeared from my eyelids. They were very pretty and nice once applied, and didn't crease at all for me, which is great since I have oily lids!

Overall, I'd say these would be great for someone who wants a pretty wash of color. You can easily wear these with just a few swipes of your fingers, so the application is fast, too. I will personally continue to use these, since I love the color selection, and some days, a wash of color is all I need or want for my eye look.

Below I've swatched all of the colors, so that you can get an idea of pigmentation and color payoff. Please keep in mind that these shadows will look different on you, I'm pretty pale, so the darker colors will show up nicely on my skin, where the lighter colors get sort of lost.

Friday Haul: Physicians Formula, Revlon, Almay & more!

It's Friday, and you know what that means... my weekly haul. This week I'll show you again, how you can get some free cosmetics to add to your makeup collection, as well as how to shop for deals at the dollar store. Lets get started, I've got a lot to cover this week!

1. Revlon super lustrous lipstick in "Kissable Pink". This was a free item this week from CVS. They have an Extra buck deal this week where super lustrous lipstick or gloss is on sale for 6.99 and you get $4 extra bucks back. Essentially making this lip product $2.99 after the bucks. However, you know by now that I'm a fan of that red coupon machine, and a few weeks back it gave me a $3 off any Revlon cosmetics coupon. So, with the combination of the coupon and bucks back, I got this for free. Here's the math:

Revlon super lustrous lipstick in "Kissable Pink"
$6.99  (On sale, reg. $8.99)
-$3.00 ($3 off any Revlon cosmetic purchase coupon from red machine)
-$4.00 (Bucks that printed on my receipt for a future purchase)
-$0.69 (10% back for Beauty Club membership - 10% is always taken BEFORE coupons)
-$0.70  A slight money-maker!

2. Next, if you follow me on facebook, you will have seen that I posted a link for you to print a $5 off 2 Almay cosmetics coupon. Well, if you happened to print that coupon, then you'll be able to score this deal at CVS right now. When you buy 2 Almay i-color cosmetics on sale for $5.99 each, you get $6 in Extra bucks back. Here is the math for this one:

Almay intense i-color shadow trios
$5.99 x 2=
 $11.98
-$5.00 (Coupon I printed from here)
-$6.00 (Bucks that printed on my receipt for a future purchase)
-$1.19 (10% back for Beauty Club membership - 10% is always taken BEFORE coupons)
-$0.21 Another slight money-making deal!

 3. Now, on to a little Walgreens shopping. I got 4 Almay shadow softies there this week, in "Vintage Grape", "Smoke", "Lilac" & "Petal" . Anyone else sort of dislike Walgreens or is it just me? Anyway, my transaction got a bit messed up, so I'll try my best to explain myself here with these shadows. These retail for $4.99 each and there is a sale on Almay cosmetics, buy one get one 1/2 off. Then, there is a Walgreens coupon in a little booklet next to where the ads are in the stores that is for $2 off Almay cosmetics. So, combining that deal with that coupon for $5 off 2 Almay cosmetics, and the $2 off Walgreens coupon, you SHOULD be able to score free shadow softies at Walgreens this week. I got 4 of them and could only use 1 of the $5 off 2 coupons, so these weren't free for me, the coupons wouldn't scan and they had to get a manager to come look at it, and I got frustrated because I was holding up the line, so I just went with it, and here is how it turned out:

4 Almay shadow softies
$4.99 x 4 =  $19.96
-$4.99 (Buy one get one 1/2 off sale)
-$8.00 (Coupon booklet savings - $2 off each Almay item you buy)
-$5.00 (Coupon I printed from here)
$1.97 ($0.49 for each eyeshadow - not bad)

This situation was a bit frustrating, I'll admit. This happens, though. And, it could have been worse. I could always take them back, but then I would also be out a very good coupon, since there is no way I'd get that back. Anyway, my point is that Walgreens is usually not my favorite place to shop for deals. Their coupon policy is pretty fierce and they are sometimes pretty rude about things (I've lived in lots of different areas, and always have had a problem with rude cashiers and managers when using coupons). So, tread lightly with this deal. You can decide if it is worth it or not, since the coupon from your printer may not scan and they may look at you like your a fraud :/ May I also add, that CVS took the same coupon from the same computer with no problems at all (you can print each coupon 2 times per computer/device. I was able to score 4 coupons total - 2 from my PC, and 2 from my iPhone!). Edit: coupons.com has fixed the problem with the Almay coupon not scanning. If you printed this coupon after Monday 3/10, you should have no problems!

4. Moving on. Also at Walgreens this week, Rimmel Cosmetics are 50% off. I picked up the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal eye liner in "Taupe".  I'm not terribly familiar with this line, and I feel like everytime I try something from Rimmel, I hate it. With the exception of their eyeliners. namely the Scandaleyes Waterproof eyeliners. They are creamy and amazing. I didn't have this color, and I'm excited to put it to the test!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal eye liner in "Taupe"
$4.79
-50%
$2.39!

5. Have I ever told you how much I LOVE Physicians Formula? I do. Love. Even though I'm a hoarder of all things makeup, I have pretty sensitive skin. Physicians Formula is Eco-friendly, and they normally use safe ingredients in their products. They even have organic products. I spotted 4 different shades of Physicians Formula Organic wear blush at my local Dollar Tree! These specific shades of blush are discontinued, which is why they were spotted at my Dollar Tree. The ones I found were "Pink Organics", "Rosy Organics", "Blushing Organics" & "Warming Organics". Once upon a time, these blushes retailed for around $12! So, needless to say, I got $48 worth of organic blushes for only $4! On a side note, I was a bit worried that these weren't "authentic", I mean, what a score, right? Plus, they were packaged differently than Physicians Formula cosmetics are normally packaged. So, I did a little research, and found that they are legit, and not knock-offs or fake at all! They have just been re-packaged so they fit better on Dollar Tree pegs. NICE! They are straight from the manufacturer and were stocked to fill orders from mass retailers, so when these shades got discontinued they send them to places like Dollar Tree.  So, hit up your local Dollar Tree, you never know what great finds you may see.

So another awesome week at the drugstore and a great surprise form the dollar store this week! I got $93.72 worth of makeup for only $7.45!!! It would have been even lower had I not ran into problems with the Almay coupon at Walgreens, but hey... I still saved over $80!

What beauty deals were you able to score this week? Make sure if you want to get in on the drugstore sales, you shop them before Sunday!

Friday Haul: Revlon, NYC & Almay!

I am SO excited to share this weeks haul with you guys! I know last week, I mentioned that there were some good deals to be had this week at CVS. However, upon closer look, and the release of next weeks ad, I decided to wait until next week to haul some of the items I've been wanting, so I'll get a better deal on them then. I did end up getting 1 thing at CVS, though and I'll share that with you. So, on to the haul. I got 5 items this week, 4 from Rite Aid, then one at CVS when I went in for something else entirely (dang those beauty deals :).

1. I got 2 NYC liquid lipshine's in "Fashion Ave Fuchsia" & "Prospect Pink". These were from Rite Aid and they were on sale buy one get one free. They retailed at $1.99 each, so I paid $1.99 for both of them making them about $1 each.

 2. Almay Shadow Softies in "Creme Brulee". This also came from Rite Aid this week where all Almay cosmetics were 40% off. This had a retail of $4.99, and I printed a coupon for $2 off from here. So, with combining the sale and the coupon savings, I ended up paying about $1 for this eye shadow.

3. The last item I got from Rite Aid this week is a Revlon blush in "Haute Pink". This was also 40% off this week. Retail for this beauty is $9.99 and, I used a manufacturer coupon from here for $2 off and a Rite Aid coupon from here for $3 off, making this $10 blush only about $1 after sale and coupons. That's a 90% savings!! Not to mention, it's a perfect bright blush for spring.

4. Last but not least, I got another Almay Shadow Softies in "Hot Fudge". This one was from CVS, and was not on sale at all. But I went into CVS to get some chocolate for an afternoon fix, and I scanned my extra-care card at the wonderful magical coupon machine inside most all CVS stores, and it printed a lovely coupon for me to use that was for $4 off any Almay color cosmetic item. So, of course I marched myself over to the Almay display and found that their Shadow Softies were only $4.99 (you can see the price in the background of the above picture). So, I scored this Almay Shadow Softies for only about $1. BUT WAIT!!! I'm a member of the CVS beauty club, which gives me $5 extra-bucks for every $50 I spend in the beauty department. That $50 is BEFORE coupons. So, even though I only paid $1, the full price of $4.99 will go towards the beauty club balance. So, if you take the $5 for every $50, and think of that as 10% off of your beauty purchase, 10% off of $4.99 is about 50 cents. So, my grand total after all is said and done, was about 50 cents for this Almay Shadow Softies.

There you have it! I got $24 worth of makeup this week for only $4.50!!! That's a huge savings. Make sure you visit next weeks Friday haul where I show you how you can make money on your beauty purchases from the drug store.
